35. Winter Path
Photographing up on the Bruce Peninsula one early morning near Christmas, I came across this small laneway that led to an old farm. In any other lighting condition, it would be easy to go right past this location with barely a passing glance. However, with the clearing cloud deck revealing a bright orange sky behind from the rising sun, the ice that was coating everything as a result of a recent ice storm was tinged with pink highlights which contrasted very nicely with the deep blues of the shadow areas. This scene somehow felt like Christmas to me.
