33. Winter at the Falls
There is something that really grabs me about the monochromacity of Winter on an overcast day. This is strange because I'm a "colour" guy all the way. I've done the odd bit of black and white, but it is colour that I am so drawn to. Yet, scenes like this are irresistable to me. I think it's that it takes me back to bygone days somehow, where I would look endlessly at photographs of Toronto after a snowfall in picture books that I had. Whatever the reason, scenes like this with very little colour, come down to lines, patterns and form. They are simplified to a great degree, and maybe that's the real attraction for a photographer.
