30. Settler's Farm
The history of our great country is something to be proud of, and something I'm very interested in. That said, it is an area where I need to spend some time and really learn as my knowledge in our history is woefully inadequate. That doesn't stop me from shooting as much of it as I can. Backus Mill Heritage Village is near Lake Erie on Ontario, and was prominent during the War of 1812. I love going there and photographing the old buildings and grounds. One can actually feel the history in this place. Somehow Autumn seems to really bring out the grain and colour in the old, wood buildings that are prominent there, and can certainly bring out the best in the photographer.
