28. Superior Island
Still with Agawa Rock, and moving past the obvious (see previous image), the isolated and seemingly vulnerable position of this rock, hanging out in the open and subject to the full fury of the Autumn and Winter storms of Superior, I felt the best way to capture this "story" was to keep it as simple and as stark as possible. I wanted to capture the loneliness and isolation of the location of the rock, which seems to be a metaphor for standing up to challenging conditions. The backdrop of orange to me signifies the oncoming night where anything might happen, and also adds a nice splash of colour further enhancing the feeling of isolation of the rock.
