Gull (High Key), Lions Head, Ontario
This gull I spotted flying very low over the water presumably looking for breakfast. This scene really caught my attention due to the perfectly calm water and near perfect reflection of the gull, whose wingtips were almost touching the surface with each downward beat. The surrounding mist being backlit by the sun made for a very high-key and almost surreal scene. I placed the gull at the lower right corner of the frame to suggest the fleeting appearance of the gull as while he made repeated runs along this section of waterfront, his speed was impressive, especially in light of the precision of his altitude.
